Heather Boynton is communications associate and web communications manager for the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. Before joining FSI, she worked in publishing and was the editor and senior researcher for Running the World: The Inside Story of the National Security Council and the Architects of American Power (Public Affairs, 2005), David Rothkopf's book on foreign policymaking in the White House. She has also worked as a researcher in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research at the State Department and as associate producer of A Normal Life (2003), a documentary film on youth in postwar Kosovo.

She received a BA in English and film from Princeton University and an MA in international security studies from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
