Michael McFaul gives analysis of latest US-Russian relations as Bush hosts Putin in Maine
in the newsPresident Bush is hosting Russian President Putin at his family compound in Maine July 1-2 in an effort to re-establish some rapport with the Russian leader. However, both side caution against high expectations. Michael McFaul, acting Director of FSI, provides analysis of the relationship between the two men and why the meeting may even be counterproductive, for the promotion of democracy in Russia and elsewhere.
